In 1945, World War II came to an end. A quart of milk, delivered by a milkman, cost around 15¢. A loaf of bread went for around 9¢. The cost of a car was about $1,250. Gasoline cost 21¢ a gallon. The average price of a house was $10,000. The average annual salary was around $2,900.
It was in that world that Midway Gas was created.
